Water Resistance is Not Permanent

UV exposure, pool chlorine, salt water, and skin acids cause gaskets to perish and lose elasticity over 12 to 24 months. The Modern Hazard: Magnetism

Laptops, phone cases with magnetic clasps, tablet covers, and speaker drivers contain powerful neodymium magnets. When a mechanical watch gets magnetized, the hairspring coils stick together, causing the watch to suddenly gain 15 to 60 minutes per day.
